A better brief makes a better pack.

The information that helps turn an idea into a useful packaging quotation.

Original concept illustration for buying guide

Start with the product

Share dimensions, weight, fragility and a reference photo. Explain whether the packaging protects the product, presents it on a shelf, creates a gift experience, or combines those tasks. If you have an existing pack, show what works and what should change.

Describe the whole range

List the SKUs, approximate quantities and which parts of the design vary. A common structure with changing artwork is a different production problem from several unrelated pack sizes. Identify any inserts, sleeves, cards, bags or clear components.

Give the quotation context

Explain your sales channel, intended market, delivery destination and desired arrival window. Use a reference image to describe a finish if you do not know the process name. Open technical questions can be reviewed; they should not prevent an initial brief.

Share files safely

Use a restricted shared link for artwork or reference documents. Tell the team whether the files are a concept, an existing dieline or final production artwork. Access and handover can be agreed before confidential files are shared.
